A rainy day

Stop complaining
It is time for fun...

Last Friday, in the early morning (about 6 am), I, my colleague and my students went to Loksado, Hulu Sungai Selatan, South Kalimantan. I went there relating to Lambung Mangkurat University activity for celebrating its 50 years. One of those programs is conducting a mass circumcision for native people in that remote area. We needed almost 2 hours by car to be in Kandangan (the main city in Hulu Sungai Selatan). From Kandangan to Loksado, we still needed about 30 minutes to meet our final destination. After almost 7 years ago, it was there again. The trip from Kandangan to Loksado was so interesting. Interesting since I can find the original rain forest and experience fresh air which are difficult to be found easily in where I live in now. However, since Loksado lies at high altitude, (Meratus mountain), at one side I can see how beautiful the mountain, but the other side I can see how deep the valley. Death is waiting in front of us if we are not careful.

After performing 36 circumcisions (collaborating with local health workers), the event was finished just right before Friday praying. Fun time is coming…….. !!!!!!!

We had planned two main activities which were bathing at warm water and rafting at Amandit river. There is a public bathing pool nearby the location. Unfortunately, all plans were canceled since it was a rainy day. Nothing much we could do but playing in the river and having ketupat Kandangan.

I think it is enough for refreshing my mind and be ready for the next work days.

Btw just curious, kalo misalnya ada 36 people to circumsized berarti kan harus ada 36 pisau ya?
atau beberapa pisau dan dilakukan sterilisasi on the spot?

When I read "find the original rain forest and experience fresh air" I felt it must be a very beautiful place to visit!

But then I saw you saying "which are difficult to be found easily in where I live in now" and I got confused ... I thought you where living in Borneo and that it was still a well preserved place.
